The Association of Washington Public Hospital Districts has served as the trade association for Washington State's public hospital districts since 1952,
first as an unincorporated association and since 1998 as a non-profit corporation.
Each of the member public hospital districts is a governmental entity created by state law.
Each public hospital district is governed by a board of publicly elected commissioners.
AWPHD is contracting with the Municipal Research & Services Center (MRSC) to provide to AWPHD members legal, policy, and research services related to PHDs as local (municipal) governments. We encourage AWPHD members to submit such legal and policy inquiries directly to MRSC either by calling one of their consultants at (206) 625-1300, or by completing a Research Request Form (http://www.mrsc.org/research/request/default.aspx) and submitting it to MRSC.
